We were delighted to welcome Sue Palmer for an inspiring visit in January. Pupils in Key Stage 2 had the opportunity to hear first hand about the writing process, the challenges and joys of being an author, and the creative journey behind publishing a book.
Workshops allowed pupils to explore their own creativity. After reading the first chapter, the children explored themes in Sue’s book ‘The Secrets of the Shore’ through games and purposeful discussions. Teachers were impressed by the imagination and enthusiasm pupils brought to the sessions. The visit concluded with a book‑signing, where children had the chance to meet the author individually—an exciting highlight for many!
A huge thank‑you to Sue Palmer for inspiring our young readers and writers and reminding us of the power of stories. We look forward to seeing the wider reading and exciting writing this visit sparks across our school.
